Marigold At Night

Marigold At Night

***Please note that due to the Decree of 25 October dinner service will not be available in the restaurant, and our End of Harvest Dinner has unfortunately been cancelled.

Thank you for the overwhelming support and to everyone who reserved a table. We look forward to welcoming you back to our dining room at night soon, and hope to host similar events in the future when the situation stabilizes. For now, stay safe!***

Fall is always an exciting time at our restaurant. As the days shorten and the temperature falls, things heat up inside.

The restaurant flickers by candlelight and our menu transitions to earthy, fall-focused food: all varieties of local mushrooms and leafy, hearty greens; root vegetables become the base for soul-soothing soups and squash tend to fill Domenico's sought after pasta at lunch and dinner.

Above: Grilled endive with rye bread crumbs and wild fennel blossoms, paired with braised oyster mushrooms Domenico foraged from a forest near Lago di Vico.

We've got a few events lined up this October, like our End of Harvest Dinner, a very special tasting menu set for Saturday, October 31. We're also delighted to announce our collaboration with friend and local artist, Marta Abbott for a special show during Rome Art Week, that will be at Marigold from October 26 - 31.

End of Harvest Dinner

The End of Harvest Dinner is a special dinner collaboration between Marigold and several of our local, sustainable farmers and producers located just outside Rome. The experience includes a 5-course tasting menu with each dish featuring an ingredient chosen by a different farmer to serve as inspiration for Domenico.

Through each dish you'll "meet the farmers", like Lorenzo from Orto di ClaPi and Francesca of CO.BR.AG.OR., as well as foragers Samuele and Martina from Fauno Azienda Agricola

There will be a meat course using organic free-range meat from our friends at Il Poggio in the Val d'Orcia and we'll use organic cheeses from Anne-Line from Fattoria Ma' Falda.

The experience is guided by a small booklet that includes the story behind the farmers, their farms and philosophy.

Marta Abbott x Marigold: "Natural Landscapes"

We've collaborated with our friend and artist Marta Abbott for her new show taking place at Marigold from 26-31 October during Rome Art Week

You will recall our first collaboration with Marta for Mother's Day this year, featuring works created from vegetable inks she made from foraged wild flowers.

In this new collaboration, she's created a collection using discarded vegetable scraps from our kitchen - like onion and avocado peels. Called "Natural Landscapes," a curated selection of works will be hanging on the walls of the restaurant for visitors to admire during restaurant hours next week.

**Meet the artist during a special preview on Saturday, 24 October from 5-6pm. Then stay for apertivo and dinner to continue enjoying the works.

Domenico's Chef Menu: Every Friday + Saturday Night

Last month we announced Domenico's new Chef Menu: a 5-course tasting menu guided by the chef. The reception has been overwhelming, and Domenico has felt more inspired than ever!

Each chef menu features four savory dishes and one dessert. Domenico decides your menu from dishes on the a la carte dinner menu as well as new, creative dishes he'll create in the moment. The surprise of each dish he brings to the table is all part of the fun.

// €50 per person for the whole table

Enjoy Italian natural wine with your dinner. Ask your server for recommendations, and enjoy a few glasses or pair a bottle with your whole meal.

And don't forget some of our housemade sourdough bread and Marigold butter. These days we're serving it with a sprinkle of salt and wild fennel blossoms Sofie picked at Villa Pamphili near her house.
