Open Position: Bread Baker/ Pastry Chef

Starting March 2024

40 hours a week

Availability: Tuesday to Sunday. Must be available starting 6.00am on weekdays and weekends.

*Candidacy Requirements*

  • valid work permit for Italy

*Experience Requirements*

  • Knowledge and professional experience with sourdough baking, laminated doughs, and general modern cake and pastry making
  • 2-5 years experience in a bakery with strong focus on natural baking
  • A positive attitude everyday with an ability to work well in a small team
  • Clean and precise work ethic

*Job Responsibilities*

  • Daily preparation of bread, pastries and cakes for the counter at Marigold
  • Collaborate with Sofie on developing new pastry items, with a strong, seasonal focus and Marigold style
  • Oversee bakery operations when Sofie is not present
  • Manage inventory of all ingredients in the kitchen and storage room, communicating orders daily/weekly
  • Maintaining organization and tidiness in the bakery department and storage room, making sure that all daily and weekly cleaning procedures are followed
  • Updating and keeping track of recipes

Open Position: Server

Part-Time, 26 hrs with possibility of future full time

Availability: Wednesday to Friday. Must be available to work during the hours 7.30 to 16.30 weekdays and weekends.

Start Date: immediately

*Candidacy Requirements*

  • valid work permit for Italy
  • fluent in Italian and English, or with a strong professional proficiency

*Experience Requirements*

  • at least 2 years experience serving in a restaurant, ideally with international experience
  • experience and passion for a kitchen focused on sustainability and seasonality
  • knowledge of specialty coffee and natural wines
  • a positive attitude everyday with an ability to work well in a small team
  • clean and precise work ethic

*Job Responsibilities*

  • general FOH responsibilities: taking orders and catering to guest needs, cleaning/resetting tables, serve bakery/counter items, prepare orders for take-away, take payment
  • oversee inventories 
  • reply to guest requests and inquiries by email and phone

Open Position: Part-Time FOH

Part-Time, 10 hrs

Availability: Saturday and Sunday. Must be available to work during the hours 8 to 16.30.

Start Date: beginning February 2024

  • fluent in Italian and English, or with a strong professional proficiency

*Experience Requirements*

  • experience working in a restaurant is highly appreciated
  • experience and passion for a kitchen focused on sustainability and seasonality

  • clean and precise work ethic

About Marigold

Marigold opened in 2018 by Italian chef Domenico Cortese and Danish Baker Sofie Wochner.

The restaurant is open 5 days a week from 9-15, serving breakfast, lunch and weekend brunch. The kitchen is international with a strong northern European influence.

Everything is made in-house using local, seasonal and sustainable ingredients carefully sourced from like-minded producers or foraged by the owners. The restaurant experience is casual but refined, with a strong focus on hospitality and authentic service.
